TALTOS

TALTOS, Hungarian mystical sorcerers is the source of inspiration for this symphonic poem. The uniqueness of this piece lies in the fact that it includes an original Táltos drum to be performed. This drum is heated over a fire to tighten the skin and thus make its sound more powerful.

The work consists of three parts, the first "The Chosen One" presents original verses from the Táltos performed by the male members of the band in which they thank the ancestors for the creation. The second part is called ecstasy and in it you can hear a traditional Taltos song adapted to 7/8 time on the oboe and the last part, "ritual" is a great hymn in which the Taltos thank the gods.
